Are you preparing for a relocation? We all go through a move sometime or an other. I’ve moved so many times that I just hate it. I can honesty say I’ll never do it again by myself. but I learned my lesson about hiring people to help me move. I had to move a big screen tv once so I hired a couple of guys from the yellow pages. All I wanted was my tv moved up a couple flights of stairs so I called for some help. It was one of those huge walnut encased 64 inch tv’s. Nothing like today’s newer model (light as a feather) big screens. This thing weighed in a at about 100 pounds. Anyway when they came with the truck. I’m not talking about a pickup like I thought they would have. No, they got a big U-haul truck and I had to pay a minimum of 3 hours. Anyway, they got it to my house ok but trying to go up the stairs was a night mare. They almost dropped that TV about 4 times and at one point I had to help get it up the stairs or they would have dropped it. I guess my point is that you need professionals to do the job and I found some in Oasis Moving. They are Las Vegas based with branches all around the country and one of them is in Phoenix Arizona. I tell you that if you’re looking for some good Arizona Movers then you should check these guys out. At least go to their site and fill in a free quote form, see what they have to offer

The process of finding a home can often be a complicated one. There’s a seemingly endless list of things to consider. As a result, we’ve got more than a few tips for ensuring that such an important task goes smoothly. Let us shed a little light on the subject.

Staying well within your price range should be foremost when finding a new home. People often have an unrealistic price range for their new home, either setting the bar to high or too low. There’s a necessary balance that should be implemented when setting your price range. If you set the price too high you’re likely to find yourself living well beyond your means and if you set it too low you may find yourself in an area that is far from comfortable. When figuring your price range you should take into account a number of factors. How much are utilities going to set you back? How far is this place from regular commutes? Are you comfortable with the area you’re in? These are all important factors that should be considered before settling on a price.

How far your new place is from your regular commutes is something that definitely needs to be taken into account. You want to ensure that you’re in an area that is practical for the things you need to get done. It should be a reasonable distance from work while still being close to places like grocery stores, gas stations, and schools, if you have children or attend yourself. The shorter the distance between your regular commutes the better, but give yourself a little leeway on distance. If you focus too heavily on your distance from commutes you may talk yourself into living in an area you wouldn’t have otherwise chosen.

Utilities are often one of those thing people don’t consider before a move, especially if you’re renting or paying off your home. Often, people just think of finding the nicest place with the lowest monthly payments for the money without taking into account what else needs to be paid for during the month. Are you going to have to pay for utilities or are they included in your monthly payments? Are you going to have a home phone line or just use cell phones? Do you need to pay for garbage pick-up or is it free of charge? Once you factor in the other monthly payments you may find that your range changes significantly. Keeping a realistic range will ensure that you live comfortably in your new home while staying well within your means.

Once you do find a home, you might need some help to get your possessions moved safely. For your moving and packing needs you should call the Las Vegas relocation team at Oasis Moving and Storage to help with all your moving and packing needs.

Las Vegas recycling hasn’t yet taken off like California but I believe it will and with all the people who are looking for Las Vegas movers this idea could take off. What am I talking about? Green moving boxes, not just the color green but plastic reusable, recyclable moving boxes that come in different sizes to make your move even easier.

Moving is something that occurs everyday. Whether you’re moving across town or across the country there are no shortage things to do. It’s an exhausting process, but when an elderly individual is involved the move takes on a whole new set of challenges.

Where they are moving to makes all the difference on how one should proceed. If you’re moving an elderly individual into an assisted living facility, there is the matter of what to do with the larger and more valuable personal effects such as furniture and memorabilia. The same problem can also arise if they are moving into a smaller home than the previous one that can’t hold all the odds and ends one acquires over the years. It essentially comes down to selling, storing, or discarding what won’t fit. It’s a time consuming process, but downsizing is a necessary part of such moves.

Garage sales and thrift stores are great ways to sell off the unwanted items and turn a profit. The little odds and ends that still have some use are best left to the thrift stores while the bigger items such as out dated electronics and worn furniture are better left to the garage sales where they are more likely to turn a greater profit. Be sure to go through everything twice to ensure that what go up for sale are items you want part with.

There are often many antiques present in an elderly person’s home. You should have all antiques appraised before a move to determine how much things should be insured for. Even with the best moving services antiques can easily be damaged during a move. It’s best to use a professional antique moving service if possible, but treating all antiques as breakables can often suffice. If you intend to store these items it’s best to pick a storage facility that deals specifically in storing antiques and valuables. Once stored, be sure to check up on those antiques to ensure they are being shown the care they need.

If the individual is living by themselves as opposed to an assisted living facility it is important to make sure their new home is safe. It’s important to check for things such as uneven flooring and other falling hazards. Things such as the number of carpeted areas vs. uncarpeted areas, the number of stairs, and hard to reach storage areas are all important when surveying a home for the elderly. The idea is to anticipate needs and adjust wherever possible.

Moving can be a daunting task in and of itself. Adding the challenges of working with an elderly individual can make a move seem like a tall order. Following these tips will go a long way to making your move a simple and safe one.

Go a step further and let Oasis Moving and Storage help you with your move. We are experienced Las Vegas Movers with a good reputation for getting the job done to your satisfaction.

Moving to a new place can be quite the task, but once you’ve settled into your new place there is still much to be done. Repairs, renovations and getting a feel for the new place are only a few things that need to be addressed.

The first things that need to be addressed in your new home are repairs. Unless you’ve moved into a fixer-upper those repairs are likely to be minor. Simple things such as minor leaks and insulation problems are the types of issues one is likely to run across in a new home. What may appear to be dismissible repairs, can turn into major problems down the road if not taken care of immediately. You should use your inspectors report as a sort of checklist going from the most serious repairs to the superficial ones. This will go a long way to ensuring that you get the most out of your new home.

Renovations are a great way to bring a personal touch to your new home. This is especially important if your new place is in an unfamiliar area. If you have children, renovations can help to make the move more manageable. A new home can feel almost alien and making a house feel more like a home is an important step to adjusting after a big move.

When it comes to decoration the first question that arises is whether or not to hire a professional. Depending on the size of your home, your intentions and your budget this can be a fairly practical solution. The prices can range from the extravagant to the reasonable depending on the service and the size of your home. If you’re looking for a more polished look, especially if you’re decorating to sell, then an interior decorator may be the way to go.

Now if you intend to do it yourself it’s important to take your time. You should plan out what you want your home to look like room by room before you start decorating. Depending on your budget decorating your new home can take a few weeks or a few months. You may want to decorate your living room first and move on to other rooms starting with the rooms company are likely to see onto the ones just for you. If you have children you should allow them to have a say in the decoration process. Letting them choose colors and fabrics can go a long way to making them feel more comfortable in their new setting.

Moving into a new place can be an exhausting experience. The shock of having so much left to do after the challenges of the move itself can be a bit much for anyone, but following these tips will set you well on your way to making your new house a home.

Moving your home office can be quite the obstacle for those moving into their new home. There are so many things to consider it’s often hard to keep it straight. Well, when it comes to moving in Arizona we know our stuff so allow us to shed a little light on the nasty business of relocating a home office.

Shipping changes may be one of the first things considered when moving a home office. If you get regular inventory you have to consider what to do with those shipments. A good choice would be to just take in a slightly larger shipment to compensate for the time you’ll need to spend adjusting to the new office. Afterwards you can change the shipping address and stop shipments for a short while. Depending on the companies you’re working with an address change can be a bit of a mess. Some Arizona companies are more reliable than others and having plenty of stock on hand can often mean the difference between putting you business on hold for a week or a month.

It’s nearly impossible to expect to continue working during a move. You’ll more than likely need to put a hold on anything business related while you relocate your home office. Consider it a vacation of sorts. Depending on the nature of your work you may be able to work right up to the last few weeks before a move, but it’s ill advised. Especially if you’re moving from a small town like Bisbee to a bustling city like Tucson, or vise versa, where the culture shock can not only affect your business but your personal life as well. It’s better to stop work all together and inform all contacts of your move well in advance. This way your contacts aren’t jostled by a sudden change, the feeling of urgency is lessened and the transition will be smoother. You should also be sure to change the return address on anything that you mail off in the last week before your move to ensure it goes to your new address.

When packing away your office you should look at it much like packing away your house. Those things you use the least should be the first things to get packed. Records and files should be packed away well before you reach the point where your office must be shut down. Just like with moving to a new house you should always get as much accomplished in advance as possible. By packing your office away a little at a time you find you have much less to worry about when that mad dash starts during the last week of your move. These are just a few tips make sure your move in Arizona is smooth sailing.

Take a look at one of our resources pages about Las Vegas movers if you’re looking for more information on how to get moving supplies or just moving in general. Then we would like to invite you back to fill in a quick estimate form so one of our friendly customers services reps can help you plan your moving needs.

Packing is one of most important aspects of the moving process. Observing proper packing techniques can often mean the difference between a smooth move and an enormous hassle. But what exactly is proper packing? Most people don’t know the first thing about proper packing techniques. Don’t worry; here are some great tips on executing proper packing technique.

Good packing starts with the boxes themselves. While getting boxes from the grocery store may be cheaper these boxes aren’t always up to the task. They are often too weak to hold your possessions and their irregular shapes often make them difficult to load when moving time comes. You should always go with proper packing boxes when packing for your move. Most moving companies provide these at a reasonable price so be sure to check with local moving companies about obtaining packing boxes before your move. They may not come free, but having proper packing boxes goes a long way to ensuring your move goes smoothly

When packing your boxes you should always pay close attention to the weight of each box. Take care to keep all of your boxes under 50lbs. This is to ensure that the boxes are easy to lift so that they can be properly handled during the move. This careful examination of weights also ensures that the boxes themselves wont fall apart do to over packing. Take care to pack heavy things in medium boxes to allow for better handling saving the larger boxes for lighter items and always wrap your items in packing paper. This helps prevent damage during transit. Be sure to tape all of your boxes shut once you’ve packed them to ensure that nothing falls out while you handle them.

When packing breakables be sure to use decent sized boxes that allow for a lot of room. Always take care not to pack breakables too tightly so as to avoid the possibility of them being damaged in transit. You also want to be sure that you use a lot of packing material to keep your breakables safe. While you can use packing tissue, bubble wrap is the ideal material for protecting your breakables.

You should always label your boxes by room as well as keep a proper check list of what’s in each box. You may also want to use a color code or numbering system to cut down on some of the writing. Keeping a proper list of what’s in each box is great for finding what you need once you get to the new place without having to unpack everything.

Implementing proper packing techniques is a must for every move, both big and small. This all may seem like quite the hassle at first glance, but these tips go a long way to making sure your move goes off without a hitch.

One of the most upsetting things about moving house is cleaning, and removing awkward stains and marks is one of the toughest things to do when prepping your place for a move. Its always critical, when using these suggestions to spot test and make sure that you will not be doing more damage than good.

You need to also always take your cleaning items with you a box of your most typically used items or a list can save you some time and effort in the future. Some of the commonest stains and marks can be removed easily with each day home goods.

Scuffs and marks on woodwork can be removed with a pencil eraser these marks, from shoes, wheels, or rubber bumping against things are tough to remove another way, but come off without trouble with a rubber. Toothpaste is not just superb for cleaning teeth you can use it to remove determined ink, crayon, or scuff stains from any surface watch out to check it on wallpaper 1st in an inconspicuous place. You may have to get rid of many of these stains from walls before painting as they can show thru many layers of paint. Toothpaste is also good for removing crayon from radiators, or glass just rub gently with a non abrasive fabric, or for troublesome stains, leave to sit for at least sixty minutes before washing gradually. You can remove unwished-for paint from most woodwork by conscientiously scouring with a brass scourer not so hard though , or you may scratch the other paintwork. Scum stains, dried toothpaste and lime scale come off with liberal application of an oxy based paste you can get any ‘oxy’ based cleaner ( one that fizzes and heats up the water a little ) in most shops.

You can remove moldy or damp smells almost anywhere with bicarbonate of soda. Simply apply to the pungent area ( or leave a tub open in a cupboard or refrigerator ) and the smell should be hugely lessened or gone inside twenty-four hours. The same applies for turned on charcoal, or some drops of vanilla on a fabric. Baking soda is good for a full month, so can be used continually, not only for cleaning for a move. If you are washing textured walls, employ a nylon sock to do so it implies you will not leave fluff in your wake and always wash walls from the bottom up to avoid streaking, applying any cleaning solution you are using ( once tested to guarantee paint, or wallpaper fastness ) in tiny patches while you are cleaning. You can remove wax from carpets, floors or curtains just by using an absorbent fabric and a hot iron the wax should stick to the absorbent cloth and peel away simply. Ultimately , don’t mix cleaning products most contain either ammonia or bleach and when mixed the smoke are perilous.

Care should be taken when cleaning any are which has been spot treated with a different solution than you are mopping with, because not only are some mixes lethal, but others can react with each other and cause spotting, or gruesome marks.

After a move there’s often quite a bit more to do than one might expect. That list only gets longer when you change cities and the sear volume of tasks can be a bit overwhelming for most. Well fear not Arizona movers, we’ve got a few more tips to help you survive the uncertainty that comes after the big move.

When you’ve moved to a new area or a new town you’ll find it may be a bit of an adjustment. If you moved from town to town, like Jerome to Wilcox, you can expect things to be more or less the same, but if you go town to city things can be quite different. Try to find the types of shops you frequented when you lived at your old place. You may find that your options have increased, stayed the same or decreased depending on where you moved.

Setting aside an afternoon to find what you need is the best way to get familiar with your surrounds. Find a place to get your haircut, find the nearest grocery store, take a trip to your local mall or try a new restaurant. If you have a special interest, check the phone book for the nearest specialty shop. It’s a great way to meet new people with similar interest. All of this goes a long way to making the new place feel more like a home.

If you have kids you may find that they may adjust a bit slower than you had hoped. How they adjust has a lot to do with both their age and the connections they’ve fostered at your old place. It’s often easier for younger children, particularly those who are not yet old enough to attend school. Usually finding the closest park or play area for your child is enough to make them forget about the old house all together.

When you have older kids it’s often a great deal harder to adjust after a move, especially if it’s a long distance move. Leaving behind friends, schools, and favorite spots can be rough for everyone. It’s often a good idea to allow your kids to keep in contact with friends they’ve grown particularly attached too. Arrange phone calls and possibly the occasional visit to lessen the strain of a big move, but always encourage them to make new friends and new memories. Try getting them involved in changing the new place around to suit everyone’s taste. If you can paint your new place then have them choose the color for their room. It’s a great way to get them looking forward rather than backward. These are just a few great tips to get Arizona movers on the right track after a big move.

Getting your old home sorted out before a move is the most important part of moving to a new area. You can’t exactly leave until you’ve managed to get rid of your old home. Depending on your situation, getting rid of your old home can be complicated. Here are a few great tips to help you on your way.

If you’re renting your home it’s much easier to be rid of it. Your best choice is to wait until your lease is up before you leave, this way you don’t incur any penalties. However, if you find a need to break your lease then the possibility to get out of your lease without incurring penalties decreases dramatically. Without a valid reason, ergo a natural disaster or crime that’s rendered your home inhabitable, you will more than likely have to pay a hefty fee. Talk to your landlord to see if there’s any way to lower the fee, but if there’s no hope for resolution you should stay there as long as you can to lower the penalty for breaking your lease.

If you’re selling your home then there’s a bit more to be done. With the market as it is you need to make your house as appealing as possible. Repairs, cleaning, and redecorating are musts when it comes to selling your home. They can easily mean the difference between selling your home in a few months or a year.

Any repair work that needs to be done should be done immediately. Any home that’s been lived in for an extended period of time is bound to have any number of repairs that must be done. The magnitude of those repairs is likely to increase if you have kids or pets. If you can afford to repair all the damages than you should, but if you can’t manage it you should focus on major issues like plumbing, leaks, etc. While failing to repair all of the cosmetic damage may hurt your chances of selling quickly, with a low enough price you should still be able to sell it. Be sure to get an appraisal so that you are certain what your home is worth before you attempt to sell it.

Redecorating your home can go a long way to making your home more attractive to perspective buyers. You should pay close attention to how it appears from the outside. It’s called “curb appeal”. A fresh coat of paint and well groomed lawn are just as important as new carpet and refinished cabinets. Often appearances are enough to overshadow the repairs you were unable to afford, but keep in mind that looks aren’t everything. These are just a few tips to help rid you of your old home before a move.
